Avery Carter is a senior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering Systems. He seeks out projects that encourage ideas worth spreading, influencing passion for collaboration, technology, and uniqueness that create innovative solutions. Throughout his ASU career Avery has obtained extensive project experience. As a member of AZLoop, Arizona’s SpaceX Hyperloop competition team, Avery lead the design of a passive halbach array levitation system, and helped out with the manufacturing and fabrication of a plethora of materials. AZLoop was awarded 8th place out of 24 final teams by SpaceX.
Off campus, Avery is involved in an Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Internship Program at MD Helicopters, a leading company focused on civilian and military variant helicopters. Separate from engineering, Avery has experimented with Augmented Reality programming for Apple devices, creating photorealistic visualizations from 3-D models using photogrammetry.
Avery’s passion in blockchain began about 2 years ago when he first started hearing about Ethereum. More recently, in the last 6 months he has spent nearly all his free time in learning about blockchain and educating friends on potential use-cases involving public and private blockchains. After co-founding the Blockchain Innovation Society, his goal is set to implement an innovative blockchain solution on campus, accelerating ASU’s influence in this emerging tech field.
